GOODS WORTH K14,836.90 SEIZED IN SIAVONGA AND MAZABUKA DURING INSPECTIONS

Goods worth a combined total of K14,836.90 have been seized during joint inspection exercises by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and local authorities in Siavonga and Mazabuka districts in order to enforce compliance and promote consumer protection.
CCPC in collaboration with the Siavonga Town Council on Tuesday, 17th March 2026 carried out inspections of trading places in Siavonga District resulting in the seizure of assorted goods valued at K5,356 due to non-compliance with trading regulations.
Similarly, on Wednesday, 18th March 2026, CCPC working with the Mazabuka Town Council, conducted inspections in Mazabuka District which led to the seizure of goods worth K9,480.90.
During the exercise, traders were educated on fair trading practices, while consumers were informed about product safety and the Commission’s role in safeguarding their welfare.
The inspections form part of CCPC’s ongoing efforts to promote safe products, and building consumer confidence in line with the 2026 World Consumer Rights Day.
