CCPC PARTICIPATES IN THE CENTRAL PROVINCE AGRICULTURAL AND COMMERCIAL SHOW

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), through its Kabwe Office, participated in the 52nd Central Province Agricultural and Commercial Show held under the theme “Adapting to Climate Change” held from 26th to 29th June 2025 in Kabwe District. During the show, CCPC engaged members of the public through interactive sessions, raising awareness about its mandate and its contribution to climate change adaptation. Further, CCPC used the opportunity to receive and record complaints from the public. While CCPC plays an indirect role in supporting climate resilience efforts through its core functions of promoting fair competition and protecting consumer rights in the green environment. Key areas in which CCPC contributes to climate adaptation include: - Promoting competition in green technologies; - ⁠Protecting consumers in emerging climate-related - markets; - ⁠Curbing anti-competitive behavior in climate-sensitive sectors, and - ⁠Collaborating with other regulatory bodies on environmental protection initiatives. CCPC's participation underscored the importance of cross-sectoral efforts in addressing the challenges posed by climate change, and reaffirmed CCPC’s commitment to ensuring that consumer welfare and fair market practices are safeguarded even in the face of environmental challenges.
