Zambia’s Marketing body awards CCPC “Best Public Service Delivery Organisation -2016”

The Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) has recognised the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) as the Best Public Service Delivery Organisation of the Year 2016.

The recognition was made at the 20th Annual Marketing Conference held in Livingstone where CCPC received the winner’s prize for its efforts in protecting and enhancing Competition and Consumer Welfare in the economy for the benefit of the people of Zambia.


Accepting the Prize on behalf of CCPC, Public Relations Officer, Mrs Namukolo Kasumpa said the Commission was greatly humbled by ZIM’s recognition of its work and efforts in promoting competition among businesses and protecting consumers from unfair business practises.

She said the award was an achievement which would motivate CCPC to enhance its interventions and initiatives aimed at taking its services to members of the public.

“As a Commission, we are delighted to have the support of institutions like ZIM as they are instrumental in increasing the visibility of CCPC through provision of such awards. This award will go a long way in furthering the efforts made by the Commission to continually be exceptional in its service delivery to the public”. Mrs Kasumpa said.

Commenting on the award CCPC Executive Director, Mr Chilufya Sampa said he was happy that 2016 had been a successful year for the Commission as its efforts were being recognised in the nation, adding that the Commission needed to work even harder in 2017.

He further thanked the employees for their positive attitude towards work which had contributed to putting the Commission at its current status and implored them to remain steadfast in ensuring that the best Competition and Consumer welfare services were attained.

The heavily contested awards attracted a total of thirteen (13) institutions which include; Worker’s Compensation Fund Control Board, Zambia Electricity Supply Company Limited (ZESCO), Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority(ZICTA), ZAMTEL, Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA), Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), National Pension Scheme Authority(NAPSA), Zambia Public Procurement Authority(ZPPA), Road Transport and Safety Agency(RATSA),ZAMPOST, Zambia Tourism Authority (ZTA)and Radio Christian Voice(CV).
